Vina HuLamm, MS is the global health manager at the American Public Health Association (APHA). Ms. HuLamm works on the development of the Association’s international programs and collaborative partnerships that include the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), United Nations Council of Organizations (UN-COO), World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) as well as other organizations. Additionally, she works with APHA’s interested member components, including its International Health section and International Human Rights Committee, to advance the organization’s role and visibility in global health. Her professional areas of interest include public health leadership; health systems strengthening; global health policy; advocacy and the role of civil societies; and global health diplomacy. In her previous experience, Ms. HuLamm has managed and coordinated various health projects in international development including those funded by government agencies, multi-lateral agencies, and the private sector. Additionally, she formerly taught English abroad as part of the Japan Exchange and Teaching program (JET). Ms. HuLamm is currently a doctoral student in public health leadership at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She earned an MS in Global Health with a graduate certificate in epidemiology from George Mason University and a BSc in environmental science and policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. Ms. HuLamm has native proficiency in Vietnamese as well as limited working proficiency in Japanese and Spanish.
