Peter Martineau was named Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer April 1, 2016. He leads the newly created Business & Technology Solutions (BTS) group and is responsible for all global information systems.The new organization will work with each of the company’s business units to identify and deploy the information technologysolutions to achieve the company’s strategic objectives. In his most recent role, Peter was the Vice President-Business Transformation. He joined A. O. Smith as part of the GSW acquisition in April 2006 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of finance and customer service. Prior to the acquisition, he had been with the American Water Heater/GSW businesses since 1995; his last position was senior vice president-finance and chief financial officer of American Water Heaters. Before joining GSW, he was vice president-finance and administration for Canadian Bearings, Ltd., and controller of Urban Transportation Development Corporation.A native of Canada, Peter earned his bachelor’s degree in accountancy and business administration from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, and a master’s degree in public accountancy from McGill University, Montreal. He also holds a CPA designation.
