Akima Management Services (AMS), Akima Construction Service's parent company, provides financial and administrative support to its operating companies as needed. These support services are primarily in the areas of Human Resources, Accounting and Finance, Business Development, Information Technology, Safety and Quality Management. In fact, AMS and each of its subsidiaries are ISO 9001: 2000 registered. Akima Construction Services LLC is one of six subsidiaries of Akima Management Services (AMS), an Alaska Native Corporation formed to pursue government and commercial contracting opportunities. To ensure that we develop meaningful partnerships with each of our customers, fulfill their quality performance and service expectations, and achieve our customers' missions and objectives, Akima restructured in January 2004. Akima Construction Services LLC, an 8(a) operating company of Akima Management Services, was established in order to pursue work its predecessor company, Akima Corporation, was no longer eligible to perform as a graduate of the Small Business Administration's 8(a) program.
