Inspiring people to change is tough, right? Well, what I love most is helping people not just to change but to be the best they possibly can be. Cliché alert...encouraging people out of their comfort zones, to dare to be different and turn their thinking from traditional to innovative and a whole new level of success, is what I do best. I’m a CIPD qualified and passionate HR and change professional that has spent most of his career avoiding long meetings in preference for spending time understanding what our customers need, what we stand for, what makes people tick and taking action to connect the three to get results. Currently, I’m delivering the single biggest people change our division has ever seen and, having had a decade of directly overseeing both strategic and operational activity in recruitment, talent management, employee engagement, learning and development, employment law and reward, I'm well prepared. In recent years my curiosity with and exposure to systemic thinking and innovation techniques has served to add more fuel to my excitement and passion for leading teams of people in thinking differently to solve very different and stretching challenges. Since I started the revolution in the summer of 2016 we have aligned 3,000 people across 5 UK sites behind a common purpose, we’ve removed targets and bonuses but seen productivity and sales go up, re-designed internal processes to eliminate waste and cost and helped our strategic partners enhance their product propositions. As the journey continues, 2017 is shaping up to be a bumper year. I’d be delighted to connect with people facing similar challenges and are happy to share notes on what did and didn’t work, if you have interests in similar areas (change management, HR, systems thinking, innovation) or even if you have none of these but facing a people challenge of your own.
