Senior Director, Talent Administration
Year Up's mission is to provide urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education.
After spending several years exploring the field of education, through volunteer work at Brighton High School and an AmeriCorps VISTA position with the Boston Public Schools Office of Welcome Services, I expanded my experience by working as an Access Counselor at Bottom Line. Bottom Line helps low-income and first-generation-to-college students get to and through college. There, I managed a caseload of 63 high school seniors as they navigated the complex college application and financial aid processes. After an exciting year at Bottom Line, I joined Year Up, another Boston non-profit organization that works to close the Opportunity Divide. I have been at Year Up for over three years now, yet each day I am impressed by the tenacity of my colleagues who are driven and inspired by the organization's vision. Year Up takes young adults from poverty to a professional career in one year. In tough economic times, and in a nation increasingly divided by income inequality, Year Up's value cannot be doubted.
