Operational Supervisor at a busy London Underground Station responsible for the safe movement of 120,000 people daily. As the legally responsible person for the Station, my responsibilities include station and asset management, staffing, crowd control, platform management, incident response, comprehensive report-writing and crucially, getting the Uber Eats order in. A happy team is a productive team. I liaise with Line Controllers, the London Underground Control Centre, Asset Performance, Network Command, British Transport Police, the London Ambulance Service, the London Fire Brigade and the frontline team at the local Tesco Express. My background is business sales-oriented having worked for a leading global translation services provider as a Director of Strategic Accounts in the Life Sciences division for 5 years, responsible for seeking new business and sales opportunities and managing clinical labelling translations for global pharmaceutical companies. I have a BSc in Business Computing but I never pursued it as a career. As a married father of two and qualified Health & Wellbeing rep, I believe in setting clear boundaries between home and work. I am a keen sports enthusiast currently training for my first marathon but have been known to dabble in mountaineering, Olympic weightlifting, CrossFit, rowing and obstacle course races, often for charity. I am the founder of AMAP 4 GOOD, a non-profit, inspiring people to push past their self-imposed limits in sporting challenges and fundraise for charitable causes, including providing life-saving equipment to Palestine through Medical Aid for Palestinians; sponsoring orphans for 10 years through Orphans in Need; building a village of 50 homes in Syria for displaced Syrian refugees.
