Discovered computing as a kid (thanks to my dad, and the amazing BBC-B 32k! http://bit.ly/2rm6UVc), sold my first apps in my teens and went on to win the Kent University National Computing Prize for High Schools before graduating in Computer Science. I started my career in the finance sector in the mid 90's first building trading systems and later running dev teams for multi-nationals at Zurich, then later at Royal Skandia.Since then I've led global teams of over 350 and delivered solutions for a list that includes Zurich, UBS, Confused.com, Go Compare, Standard Life, Barclays Bank, RBS, Royal Skandia, CACI, Euro Money PLC and most recently at Trainline.Although my day job at Trainline is largely strategic these days I've remained resolutely hands-on and still love to hack code. I have kept my hands dirty recently by building Clect.com which was proudly the first ever international entry at Launch Incubator in San Francisco (launchincubator.co) in 2016 - check out our iphone app : https://appsto.re/gb/09is_.i - and built and took to market Shareagift.com based on my own crowd-funding engine (selected as Wired magazines start-up of the week : http://bit.ly/1cv2zBP).My experience covers business start-up and change, large scale rapid application development across multiple stacks and geographies, offshoring, UX and UI design, global infrastructure, and operational support; all across multiple sectors and geographies.
