It's different each time, though I often bring capital from the global investment partnership I founded, Wisdom.vc. I was on the founding team of the Quantified Self. I’ve witnessed, studied and steered the personal data paradigm in which we’re now living. Ask me about the design and ethical implications of systems that know more, and can control more, about humans. I've worked with some of the world's leading organizations including McKinsey, BMW, Deloitte, Accenture, Nike, Freedom House, and the Aspen Institute. Most unique is my experience working across cultural and geographic boundaries. I have a World Bank innovation prize for projects I created in what we once called the developing world. Cuba, China and Kenya are just some of the contexts that have been seminal in helping me understand global dynamics. I learn about places by working with people in them in domains like transportation, urbanism, technology, public health and art. I love bringing clarity to complex dialogue. I've led all kinds of conversations in venues like The GE Brain Trust, The Wall Street Journal, The Chatham Forum, The National Bank of Iceland and the world’s largest unconference. I've taught and lectured in academic and corporate settings like Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Intel, Credit Suisse, Fidelity and the OECD. I am frequently invited to high-level workshops. I helped shape the Aspen Institute Dialogue on Public Libraries, lead conversations in the GE Global Innovation Network, and take part in gatherings like Deloitte's OnSocial, Stanford's Ethics of Data, and NYU's Govlab. My Masters in Design with Distinction is from Harvard, where I was an instructor and an affiliate of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society. My Globalization degree from Duke is the first of its kind.
