Julie Clifford has been building her expertise in the pharmaceutical industry. She has vast knowledge of the industry and what it takes as a human resources director to contribute to the company and its profitability. Her passions are compensation and benefits, as well as employee career development. Ms. Clifford oversees an HR staff of four in a growing organization of over 300 employees, and a staff of six administrative professionals. Ms. Clifford has a background in Human Resources, administration, office and facilities management. She spent 10 years in a Fortune 300 company where she served as office manager. She moved into the pharmaceutical industry at a small startup, Pharmavene (Shire Laboratories) in 1994. In 2000, she left Shire Laboratories to join a former colleague in the founding of another pharmaceutical company, Advancis (MiddleBrook) Pharmaceuticals. She spent 9 years in her role as Senior Director of Corporate Administration where she oversaw Human Resources, Contract Management, IT, Facilities and the administrative team. Julie returned to Supernus Pharmaceuticals (formerly Shire Laboratories and Pharmavene) in 2010 where she is currently Senior Director of Human Resources and Corporate Administration. Julie has continued her education and certifications within the Human Resources arena, obtaining SPHR and SHRM Senior Certified Professional designations. She also acts as membership coordinator for the HR BioScience Alliance (HRBA) whose members include HR professionals from over 50 local biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
