Special School District, located in Town and Country, Mo., provides special education services to students with disabilities. The district also operates two technical high schools that provide a wide range of career and technical education programs to area students. The district educates more than 30,000 students and performs more than 100,000 hearing and speech screenings and diagnostic evaluations annually. State legislation requires that a committee be appointed every four years to review the operations of the special school district and to make recommendations for improvement.
