CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO) ► INFUSING NEXT-GENERATION INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INTO HIGHER EDUCATION TO TRANSFORM TEACHING, LEARNING, AND RESEARCH ► SEIZING THE OPPORTUNITY IN EVERY PROBLEM My entry into IT leadership stemmed from my passion for problem-solving. As a mathematics professor, my persistent quest for solutions to overcome challenges faced by faculty and students resulted in becoming a technology advisor, system administrator, and eventually, Seton Hall University’s 1st CIO. Successful problem solving begins with looking for the opportunity in each problem. For colleges and universities, effective deployment of IT solutions not only achieves short-term goals, but becomes a strategic differentiator enhancing the institution’s administration, academics, research, and culture. ► ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND TECHNICAL INNOVATION At Seton Hall, I established an agile, trusted IT organization with a customer-focused service culture leveraging strategic investment in IT initiatives to expedite the advancement of the university’s mission. Most recently, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics initiatives have created a secure, reliable, accessible 24/7 learning and research environment, expanded online and blended program offerings, improved data-enabled administrative decision-making, and promoted student success. ► INDUSTRY THOUGHT LEADERSHIP In addition to earning Seton Hall’s recognition by U.S. News and World Report as one of the “most connected college campuses,” I enjoy collaborating with colleagues to pioneer IT solutions to problems across higher education and the corporate community as an executive committee member for EDUCAUSE and the Society for Information Management (NJ SIM). ► AREAS OF EXPERTISE Academic Technologies ● Strategic Planning ● Cross-Functional Leadership ● Cloud Computing ● Cybersecurity ● Online Learning ● Web and Mobile Applications ● Virtualization ● Data Management
