Rystad Energy is an independent strategy advisor to the global oil & gas upstream industry. From our base in Norway, we are supporting petroleum companies, governments, investors and financial institutions globally with strategy studies and transaction advises. We have two sources of distinctiveness: our Rystad Cube and our consulting approach.

I am professionally qualified as a UK chartered accountant (“statsautorisert revisor”) and worked for KPMG, one of the “big 4” audit companies, for twelve years in London, Frankfurt and then Oslo. I graduated from Cambridge University in England in June 1985. From 2004 to 2007, I was the Chief Financial Officer of Scandpower Petroleum Technology AS (later SPT Group), a private-equity owned international group of companies developing and selling software solutions and consulting services to the petroleum industry. For six years prior to this, I was the Chief Financial Officer of Norman ASA, an international software security company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. These were both medium sized groups in which I combined an operative and strategic role with full responsibility for group accounting, consolidation and reporting. From August 2007 to March 2019, I worked on a management for hire/interim basis providing services within group accounting and reporting and the implementation and use of consolidation systems for financial reporting and for budgeting/forecasting purposes. On many of these assignments, I implemented new routines more or less “from scratch” across diverse international groups delivering robust and sustainable systems and procedures. I joined Rystad Energy AS as CFO in September 2019.
