As a kid I had my top three career choices already picked out: - Lawyer - Journalist - Marketing professional I ended up going to law school, but realized early on this was not my passion. Thankfully I had my other two options to choose from. Being burnt out on school, I didn’t want to to go back to school to get a journalism degree, so I pursued marketing, and landed an amazing job at McCann-Erickson Advertising Agency in Houston. Even though I barely made enough to pay rent, I knew it was the creative assistant job I was fated for that would start my marketing career. And it did. I'm a marketing professional with over 25 years of advertising agency and corporate marketing knowledge with hands-on leadership skills. There are four critical things I've learned over the past two decades: 1. I'm still learning. Anyone who says they know everything about marketing probably doesn't know that much. We all know in this line of career things change daily. From traditional advertising to social media, it's ever evolving, and if you're not ever evolving, you'll be left behind. 2. I can't do it alone. I cannot be successful without my teammates. 3. How to be resourceful and proactive. 4. To treat everyone like a customer. Being service oriented is crucial in my professional career. Whether you're my colleague or an actual customer, I want to do whatever it takes to help you succeed.
