I present ARENA, the nightly Arts and Popular Culture magazine programme on RTÉ Radio 1. I have anchored items across all arts and entertainment genres. Significant public interviews with authors Salman Rushdie, Edna O'Brien, Roddy Doyle and John Banville and actors Rupert Everett, Martin Sheen and Brendan Gleeson. There have also been studio interviews with composer Steve Reich, authors Anne Enright and Richard Ford, filmmakers David Putnam and Lenny Abrahmson, playwright Tom Murphy and singer-songwriters Barry Manilow and Damien Dempsey. I was honoured to be asked by President Michael D. Higgins to MC a major event during the visit of HRH Prince Charles to Irellnd in 2017. Previously I was previous as MC at the State Banquet for the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Ireland and at several important state events at Áras an Uachtaráin. Diversification and broadening of my broadcasting experience are primary goals. I am particulalry interested in developing projects for TV and cross media platforms and in engaging with new and social media to enhance and tailor the experience for the end user. I regularly host important national literary and arts events. I have wide experience as a concert compere, hosting a multitude of events at the National Concert Hall and other major venues nationwide. My work as a professional actor also feeds directly into my event presentation and facilitates the creation of tone and mood suitable to all occasions.
