Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Combining experimental biology and bioinformatics to identify 100 new treatments in 10 years.
I'm not your average PhD scientist. Naturally, I do have many technical skills in cell biology, can critique the best scientific research, write a good paper, and tend to use "aliquot" in place of "portion" at the dinner table. But I'm also a project manager, team leader, innovator, and passionate learner. (and give pretty good talks, or so I've been told recently)Over the last four years in graduate school, I have pioneered three technologies that will improve cancer therapies by leveraging the patient's own immune system, spearheaded two collaborations to initiate new lines of research in the lab, optimized protocols to save over 70 work hours/month, designed and brought to fruition 2 non-thesis research projects, devised economical alternatives to expensive reagents to save over $8000/year, and mentored an undergraduate student to authorship in three months. Outside of the lab, I increased invention disclosures and performed patent infringement analyses as an ambassador for UW's technology transfer wing (WARF), captained (and subsequently coached) the varsity table tennis team to record victories (20/21 match-ups), obtained a certification from Harvard Business School (with top honors), drove deliverable development while leading a diverse team of student consultants from the Wisconsin Business School, secured record grant funding (3/3 grants) for the Indian Grad Students Association, organized 2 campus wide ethics events (>50 attendees) as an IRES fellow, and meticulously screened over a 100 applications on my program's admissions committee. As an individual, I am passionate about creating meaningful, lasting impact. I wish to use my work, skills and knowledge to improve the lives of patients worldwide. In a nutshell, my passion for science is coupled with a love for big-picture planning, problem solving, and constant personal growth. I'm not the scientist who just wants to do science. I'm the scientist who wants to plan, ideate, grow, and lead.
