Here to make a meaningful impact. I am a classically trained molecular biologist with deep experience in AI-guided target-agnostic platforms. As an executive leader, I unite exceptionally committed and talented scientists across machine learning, principles of biological / biotech research, and translational medicine in rigorous scientific inquiry to build profitable drug programs that will have real impact on human lives. In fact, “rigor,” not to mention tenacity, defines my experiences—from the night I spent in a frozen puddle (ask me about my high school survival science final exam), to the jobs I took on to put myself through college (BS, cellular and molecular biology), to the two post-graduate degrees (PhD, Human Genetics, and MS, Clinical Investigation) I earned while at The University of Utah, to the biotech research and data science methodologies I oversee to narrow down hundreds of potential molecules to those most likely to survive the rigor of technical, laboratory, animal model, and, ultimately human patient testing. With relentless curiosity, I work to develop (or extend research on) drugs that will have real impact on the outcomes of people living with disease. Translational medicine as a discipline is a key step to improving the lives of actual people, bringing all that we know from the research bench and in vivo modeling to drug delivery and research tied to patient outcomes. My approach is simple—lead with intention. As a strategic leader, I deliberately maximize the capabilities of all team members, then align their talents to meticulous scientific exploration. Through this model, everyone on the team contributes, learns, and has a real voice supporting institutional advancement. Hopefully, as a result, we ultimately find drugs that will save more patient lives, faster.
