I am the chairman, president and CEO of PSEG, a publicly traded, diversified energy company based in New Jersey. I share in PSEG’s Powering Progress vision for a future in which people use less energy, and that energy is cleaner and delivered more reliably than ever before. Thanks to our dedicated, talented employees, we are closer to realizing our vision on the path to a brighter future. Before becoming CEO in 2007, I served as PSEG’s president and chief operating officer. Prior to this, I was the president and chief operating officer of PSE&G, New Jersey’s largest electric and gas utility company. I began my career as a research scientist at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, performing numerical simulations of fusion energy experiments. Since joining PSEG in 1992, I’ve held several executive positions within our family of companies, including PSE&G senior vice president - Utility Operations; PSE&G vice president - Appliance Service; PSEG vice president - Corporate Planning; and PSE&G vice president - Electric Ventures. In these roles, I broadened my experience in general management, strategic planning and finance. I believe all utilities need to be working toward a future that provides universal access to cleaner, more reliable, resilient and affordable energy. No small challenge - but if we get it right, we have the opportunity to create a model for our nation and for others around the world.
