The city of Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department was created in 1992 to preserve the physical, social and economic health of Phoenix neighborhoods, support neighborhood self reliance, and enhance the quality of life of residents through community-based problem solving, neighborhood-oriented services, and public/private cooperation.
As a member of RDG’s community and regional planning team, my passion is for helping communities understand and achieve their goals through visionary, yet practical plans. From downtowns, to neighborhoods, to corridors, including the revitalization of historic business districts and neighborhoods, my experience in all types of implementation planning has allowed me to help create transformative plans that unify community partners, identify common aspirations, and generate momentum to create the next step. Working with local governments, business owners, state agencies, and local residents, my expertise lies in: • Creating transformative plans and projects • Generating market based implementation strategies • Connecting stakeholders by finding common-ground • Designing and navigating development regulations • Securing project financing and brokering development agreements • Administration of development and infrastructure projects Nick’s work for clients includes land use and comprehensive planning, development regulations and best management practices, urban and town center design, housing and neighborhood plans, and environmental planning including brownfields.
