After winning three USL-Pro regular season championships and two postseason titles over a four-year span, Orlando City SC quickly set the standard for professional soccer clubs both on and off the field and was awarded the 21st Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise on Nov. 19, 2013. The Lions played their first two seasons in MLS at the Orlando Citrus Bowl, where they held the second-highest average attendance in MLS. In 2016, the Club launched Orlando Pride in the National Women s Soccer League (NWSL) and Orlando City B in the United Soccer League (USL).
Diogo Kotscho has served as Senior Vice President of Communications for Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride since January 2019. In this role, Kotscho overseeded and directed communication, Broadcast, and digital strategies for Orlando City of Major League Soccer, Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League, and Exploria Stadium. Kotscho joined the Club in January 2014 as Director of New Ventures before being promoted to Senior Director of Communications in December 2015 and Vice President of Communications in March 2016. Before joining Orlando City, Kotscho worked extensively in professional sports journalism and communications. He served as Head of Communications for Octagon in Brazil from 2010 to 2014. While at Octagon, Kotscho was responsible for the press and marketing of several players, including world soccer star and former Orlando City midfielder Kaká, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Neymar, and Paulo Ganso, among others. Previously, he spent four years working with AB InBev, coordinating all communication for the Brazilian National Soccer team, as well as handling communications for icons Kaká and Ronaldo. With over 23 years of experience, Kotscho has worked for some of the essential communications agencies in Brazil, attending to clients such as Arthur Anderson, KMPG, Pizza Hut, adidas and more. His work has developed projects on five different continents. Kotscho began his lengthy education at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in Brazil, where he earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree. Kotscho recently earned a Bachelor of Sports Media and Marketing at Full Sail University in Orlando. He resides in Central Florida with his wife, two daughters, and two sons. Diogo has Brazilian, Italian and US Citizenship.
