I am an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, which is a reservation located at the north central part of North Dakota. I completed the Masters in Public Health (MPH) in community health education with a concentration in health disparities at the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health. I'm currently a PhD candidate in my 5th year of the Epidemiology social behavioral track program. I am especially interested in health disparities among the American Indian population and I hope to one day return to my community, the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, so I can design and implement culturally appropriate interventions. In my free time I enjoy attending cultural events with my husband of 21 years and our daughter.
