When I first started medical school, I had no intention of choosing psychiatry as a specialty, but ultimately, it chose me. There is mental health in all things and my career trajectory reflects a deep-seated passion for the field and the diversity of applications for psychiatric expertise. As an educator, curriculum developer, speaker, forensic expert, advocate, entrepreneur, therapist and psychopharmacologist, I'm often asked two questions. Which aspect of my work do I like the most? And do I sleep? The honest answer - I love it all. And yes, I sleep nightly (and vacation quarterly). When you love what you do and find it challenging, fulfilling and meaningful, it's easy to work hard.
