David Doft is the Chief Financial Officer at Emerald and is responsible for leading the company’s finance organization, including strategy, corporate development, financial reporting and compliance, corporate finance, treasury, legal, real estate, procurement, and investor relations. As the largest US-based operator of trade shows, Emerald’s talented and experienced team grows our customers’ businesses 365 days a year through connections, content, and commerce by seamlessly integrating in-person and digital platforms and channels. Since joining Emerald in January 2020, David has overseen numerous strategic acquisitions, including PlumRiver Technologies and its Elastic Suite B2B eCommerce platform, MJBiz, Advertising Week, Bulletin and Lodestone. Prior to joining Emerald, David served as Chief Financial Officer of MDC Partners for 12 years while also serving as Interim Co-Chief Executive Officer in early 2019, as MDC Partners underwent a strategic review that culminated in a significant strategic investment into the company. During his time at MDC Partners, David helped scale the business into one of the ten largest global advertising & marketing communications companies, quadrupling revenue and growing MDC Partners from a $400 million to a $1.5-billion business through maximizing strategic opportunities that emerged with the convergence of media, technology & creative. He also helped architect and launch the company’s venture investing strategy, and materially increase the company’s digital expertise organically and through acquisition. Before joining MDC Partners, David held leadership roles at Cobalt Capital, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities, ABN AMRO/ING Barings Furman Selz, and CIBC World Markets. David is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
