Hi, I’m Larissa Reategui and welcome to my profile. I am a master’s degree in Education specialized in Higher Education teaching. With my past experiences, I learned education is an essential part of life and the key to opportunities; education gives you a voice, it gives you purpose and a weapon to change the world, a world that requires people to communicate in a common language: English. I believe teaching is a process, and it goes beyond imparting theory to students. I believe teaching is an art, where every class and every student is unique. I believe my role as a teacher is to assist my students to develop their own potential and skills, as well as their learning styles. I learned to love each of my classes and each of my students, their successes and failures were mine as well. My role as a teacher is to help them realize they are capable of doing what they are able to, it is not only about teaching the language but about teaching them to believe in themselves. I strongly believe a teacher is a role model in class, and I know sometimes I don’t get to interact enough with students, but for the 18 days I am with them, but sometimes it is only a matter of a second, to be a light in the eyes of someone who is going through difficulties. My past and current experiences have awakened a passion and a great desire to embrace teaching, for I enjoy teaching in a creative and motivating way, as well as helping the students achieve their own academic success, grow in confidence and skills.
