Senior Data Engineer

Kyruus Inc is a healthcare organisation that provides search and scheduling solutions that help health systems match patients.

At my last job, I was a member of the analytics team at a software startup in the healthcare space called Kyruus. My team was responsible for building a data warehousing solution for the company that was capable of processing, with five nines of reliability, the thousands of log messages per minute generated by the Kyruus product. On this team, I also wrangled this massive quantity of data into human readable reports capable of producing useful insights into the effect that the Kyruus product has on the hospital systems that use it. The team worked on the cutting edge of technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and Amazon Web Services. Prior to working at Kyruus, I was at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where I received my Bachelor of Science in computer science. During my time at WPI, I had the privilege of being the sole programmer on an interdisciplinary team working on a fascinating bioinformatics simulation project. Over the course of about six months, we developed a three dimensional simulation of the embryogenesis of C. elegans, a microscopic worm, as it grows from one cell to the 26 cell stage. In this project I gained extensive experience in producing three dimensional visualizations in ProcessingJS. I was recognized with a Provost award from the college for my work on this project.
