Daryl specialises in assisting organisations with their cyber security strategy, technology governance, and digital risk projects. He has over 25 years experience in helping his clients solve their business-IT problems, and leading cross-cultural teams while based in Australia and Singapore. Daryl leads the Office of the CISO in the Asia-Pacific region for Google Cloud, partnering with Google's clients to help solve their cyber security, risk and regulatory challenges. He was previously the founding Partner & Head of the Cyber Security Consulting practice at KPMG Singapore. As an experienced CISO, he works with the Board of Directors, C-suite executives, and technology leaders to guide their investments in cyber security based on business strategy, risk assessment, deployment of technology solutions, refinement of processes, and organisational design. Daryl began his career with Price Waterhouse in his home town Canberra, Australia, before moving into IT Advisory with EY working primarily on government sector consulting. In 2002 he joined Westpac Bank in Sydney to lead their IT Audit function, then relocated to Singapore in 2004 to join Deutsche Bank where he worked in various regional head roles in their technology division. In 2010, Daryl took on a global lead role as Head of Program Management Office for Deutsche's Global Banking IT division overseeing 120 programs and teams spanning Frankfurt, London, New York & Singapore. In 2011 Daryl joined KPMG and established a new consulting practice focused on Cyber Security, which he led until 2022. Leveraging his combination of IT and business qualifications, Daryl has volunteered at professional associations and non-profit organisations to give back to the community and help mentor future leaders. He was President of ISACA Singapore Chapter, and represented the Asia-Pacific region on the global ISACA committee for Chapter Support & Growth. He was Chairman of the Audit Committee for a charitable organisation, and is currently serving on the Board of Governors at the Institute of Internal Auditors Singapore. He has also been a member of various working groups at CPA Australia, AmCham, AustCham and the US-ASEAN Business Council.
