Russell Milledge has been a contemporary arts catalyst working collaboratively with some of Australia’s leading practitioners in the fields of visual arts, dance, live art, intermedia and intercultural forms. He has been engaged almost exclusively in engineering cultural partnerships, interdisciplinary collaborations and intercultural exchange since the 1980's. With a contribution to many seminal site-specific and media based projects and partnerships recognised within the context of Australian Art and in particular those in far north Queensland. Milledge is a founder and co-director of Bonemap, a founder and former company director of KickArts Contemporary Arts Ltd and a founder and previous co-director of OnEdge media and performance festival. He is a Lecturer and curriculum developer for the discipline of Creative Media, College of Arts, Society and Education, James Cook University. Milledge is represented in collections including Queensland Art Gallery, Cairns Art Gallery, NorthSite and Cairns Convention Centre. Specialties: Through Bonemap, he has gained leading expertise in immersive theatre at the intersection of live performance, media arts and audience participation. Milledge has been co-director and technical director for all Bonemap productions since 1998 including tours to Singapore, United Kingdom and Japan presenting in major theatres, art galleries and alternative spaces.
