There’s only one reason that I chose Human Resources for my career: fun! As a payroll supervisor, I walked by the Personnel offices every day, and was astounded to see the camaraderie of highly-engaged professionals devoted to making a difference in people’s lives. I wanted to be one of them. My mentor advised that I go to back to school, something that I return to time and time again to augment my professional growth. My first role in Human Resources focused on recruiting; starting with hiring maintenance mechanics and OTR drivers. I was quickly hooked on the daily, hands-on challenge and excitement in learning new jobs, areas, functions, and all the other “workings” of Human Resources. I’ve come a long way in my career since that time, and I’m still driven by the “hook” of the daily challenges of recruiting, retaining and developing the most important asset an organization has: their people. Today, I've developed into an innovative, strategic and operational Human Resources Manager with 15+ years diverse industry experience (manufacturing, biotechnology, professional services, engineering, & distribution) with the business acumen to have a “seat at the table” as a business partner to senior leadership. .
