Hoag is an approximately $1 billion nonprofit, regional health care delivery network in Orange County, California, that treats more than 25,000 inpatients and 369,000 outpatients annually. Hoag consists of two acute-care hospitals - Hoag Hospital Newport Beach, which opened in 1952, and Hoag Hospital Irvine, which opened in 2010 - in addition to six health centers and nine urgent care centers. As a leader, Carmella is an expert in steering organizations to reach new heights of productivity and innovation—while creating environments where people love to work. Carmella is a true collaborator and business partner who crosses boundaries to align IT to organizational goals. As VP and CIO for Hoag Health System, she led two highly successful, cross functional initiatives to implement EPIC electronic health record (EHR) for the Hoag Clinic and Hoag Hospital , a core tenet of the "One Hoag" strategy to drive an enhanced patient experience and quality outcomes. Carmella is active in her community. She serves on several professional boards including Advancing Women in Technology (AWTCA.org). She also an active member of several professional organizations including HIMSS, CHIME, CHIEF, SCSIM and Advancing Women in Technology (AWT).
