Curtis is a business insurance broker with more than 32 years of broad experience in property/casualty, professional liability, cyber liability, directors and officers and employment practices coverage lines. He is the Healthcare Pracrtice Leader for the firm with additional concentrated experience in the real estate, social service and not-for-profit industries. Curtis also serves as Managing Director of Higginbotham’s Austin office, established in 2004, overseeing its customer service and sales operations and its growth initiatives. Before joining Higginbotham, Curtis was a principal at Nieman Hanks Puryear Page & Bryant, a division of Frost Insurance Agency, Inc. He has been instrumental in helping establish Higginbotham’s presence in Austin which now totals 80 insurance professionals. An Austin native, Curtis has served many local civic organizations in capacities including: president for the Young Men’s Business League, sponsor of the Austin Sunshine Camps; advisory board member for St. David’s Health Care Foundation; advisory board member for Helping Hand Home for Children; chairman for People’s Community Clinic; chairman for Central Texas Arthritis Foundation; board member/chairman for Capital Area Alzheimer’s Association; teaching director for Teen Community Bible Study and lay director for Walk to Emmaus. He is an active member of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce Education & Talent and Membership committees, Austin ISD Budget & Advisory Committee and Lakehills Church. Curtis has coached his three children’s sports teams and participated in Austin High School’s booster clubs. He is an instructor for the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) Producer Training Program and a member of the IIAT Agency Mangers Advisory Council. He currently serves as the Chair of the Engagement Committee of the Austin Gives Leadership Council and Central Texas Regional Blood & Tissue Center Development Committee.
