Sébastian Cavé is Managing Director, Germany (Private Equity Europe) at Heitman. He began his career as an analyst at Deutsche Bank AG (Frankfurt) in the Mergers and Acquisitions advisory team with a focus on mid-cap transactions, where he executed various international sell-side and buy-side mandates across different industries. He joined Grainger plc (FTSE 250 UK-based property company) in 2005 to help implement the company’s European investment objectives and entry into the German market. As Director of Corporate Development, his responsibilities included leading corporate transactions, large portfolio acquisitions, joint-ventures and capital raising (debt and equity) undertaken by Grainger. Following the establishment of a Joint Venture partnership with Heitman in Germany, he became joint managing director of Grainger's activities in Germany. In March 2016 Heitman took over Grainger's German operational platform and launched a European residential fund. His main responsibilities include portfolio management, acquisitions and business development. Born French, Sébastian has also lived, studied and worked in Germany, the USA and the UK. He holds an MBA with a specialisation in Corporate Finance (Portland State University, USA) and a BSc (Reutlingen University). He also completed the Accelerated Development Programme (Executive Education) at the London Business School and is an LBS Alumni. Sébastian gained his first experiences in investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in Frankfurt and New York.
