My career began at Euromoney as a journalist then editor then publisher on Corporate Location - an international direct investment magazine with conferences, training courses, websites etc. I then moved to Pira, a privatised former research institute, managing publishing and events across a variety of subjects ranging from packaging and paper to organic electronics, nanotechnology, biofuels, energy efficient lightng , solar power, biopolymers and environment. In 2008, I joined Haymarket Business Media as director of environment publishing and in 2012 became a board member. I manage a large and growing portfolio of energy, environment and medical related publishing and event businesses which provide high value subscription-driven information, data and intelligence across a range of formats including multiple websites, workflow tools, events, forecasts, databases and print magazines. Three of the brands I manage have won national awards and commendations -- principally for digital activities. The most prestigious was winning the PPA's UK Business Magazine of the Year award in 2011 with Windpower Monthly.
