I am the Senior Director of Technical Operations at Greenhouse Software, where I manage cloud infrastructure to provide a stable, scalable, and secure platform for our application. My background is software engineering specializing in functional programming languages such as OCaml, Haskell, Scala, and Erlang. I have experience with open source software development, particularly with Ubuntu as a package author. My former role as project lead for the Xen Cloud Platform has given me experience in open source community management as well as public speaking on technical topics. I am interested in applying my skills in functional programming languages and cloud computing to the development of server software and large scale distributed systems. Specialties: Management of Software Engineering, DevOps, IT, Security, and Site Reliability Engineer teams; virtualization and cloud computing, especially Xen and Amazon Web Services; Linux distros including Ubuntu, Debian, and CentOS; functional languages like OCaml, Haskell, and Scala; and open source development practices.
