Melissa Fifield is senior director of Sustainable Innovation for Gap Inc., a leading global specialty retailer offering clothing, accessories, and personal care products for men, women, children, and babies under the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime, and Athleta brands. In this role, Melissa leads a team that identifies, incubates and pilots initiatives aimed at raising the bar for socially and environmentally responsible performance across the company. Melissa has been with Gap Inc. for more than nine years, leading efforts to strengthen the company’s environmental sustainability programs in its owned and operated facilities, supply chain, and products. She has also led communications efforts in support of the company’s ethical sourcing and environmental sustainability initiatives. Prior to joining Gap Inc., Melissa was part of the Public Affairs practice at Burson-Marsteller, a global communications firm, and served as a legislative aide to U.S. Representative Lois Capps in both Santa Barbara, CA and Washington, DC.
