I'm passionate about protecting wildlife and making friends along the way. I believe we must find ways to help nature through available technology. I was an early adopter of social media in order to see that there were active conversations around wildlife and the issues they face. I love working with people to figure out how to help enjoy and protect this world.I've been recognized as one of the 10 Most Generous Social Media Mavens by Catchafire and Fast Company; one of the 75 Environmentalists to follow by Mashable; One of 10 People to Follow Who are Saving the World by Mother Nature Network; and a runner up for PR News Social Media Leader of the year in 2010. I enjoy sharing lessons learned and speaking. I've presented at a number of conferences around the country and world. Some of the tech conferences include South by Southwest (SXSW), Nonprofit Technology Conference, Netroots Nation, Blogworld, eMetrics Summit, and Blackbaud Nonprofit conferences. I've also conducted social media webinars for Chronicle of Philanthropy, NTEN, Bulldog Reporter, PR News, Bizsummit, TechSoup and Fundraising Success Magazine. Additionally, I've been interviewed about social media by The New York Times, USA Today, The Nonprofit Times, Fast Company, Washington Post, GreenTalk Radio, Fundraising Success Magazine, Beth's Blog and several other popular blogs.I graduated from Christopher Newport University with a B.A. in Technical Writing with minors in Biology and Communications.
