Eric Sherman is the Vice President, Real Estate, Yorkville at First Capital REIT (FCR). Eric joined FCR in 2013 as a Leasing Representative, before being elevated to Manager in 2014, Senior Real Estate Manager in 2017, Director in 2018, and Vice President in 2020. Eric is responsible for managing development/brand strategy, lease negotiation, and budget/forecasts for the various properties First Capital owns/manages in the Yorkville neighbourhood including the complete redevelopment of Yorkville Village (formerly Hazelton Lanes), numerous assets along Yorkville Ave, and the retail at One Bloor East and the Hazelton Hotel. Eric is directly involved in Construction, Property Management, Legal, Investments, and Development with a focus on achieving accretive growth in First Capital's portfolio. Eric has over 9 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, working on a diverse mix of assets including enclosed regional malls, lifestyle centres, mixed-use, strip and urban centres. Moving into more of a development leasing/project management role with a special focus on urban, multi-use projects, Eric has worked with some of the most prestigious international brands and strongest local retailers on exciting and innovative concepts in food, fashion, fitness, service and experience. Eric is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and sits on the ICSC NextGen committee. Outside North America, Eric represented First Capital at the ICSC Asia Pacific Conference in Manila in 2016 and the Annual Shopping Malls Summit in Kuala Lumpur in 2018.
