I’m a software engineering leader, architect, evangelist, developer and operator. I lead, design, promote, build and run a SaaS trading platform on the public cloud. I lead a fantastic team of engineers who are all leaders in their own right. I build an ownership culture on my team of teams. I promote freedom and responsibility. I’m a change agent who played a key role in my company's tech/organizational/cultural transformation. I used persuasion and prototype to nudge a business in a risk averse industry towards public cloud, continuous delivery, microservices, Docker, GraphQL, Agile, aligned autonomous teams, and local decisions. I designed and built a scalable stream aggregation service using the Lambda Architecture and Reactive Extensions. I run a telemetry system for our app as a side gig and means of promoting my values. I’m an advocate for simplicity, clean code, designing for testability, rapid feedback, data driven decisions, and starting with the end in mind. I’m an avid refactor-er. I’m frequently refining and tinkering. Last year I made over 3500 code commits. I code in a variety of languages, but primarily C# and Javascript. I enjoy a clean functional style. I’m learning Haskell. I like building an aligned mission-driven team. Making something awesome is more rewarding when you have like-minded people you admire to share it with.
