Eze Software is kicking off a series of blogs to discuss the latest trends in investment management and how technology fits into the picture.

I have over a decade of technology experience primarily as a product manager and a consultant. I have taken multiple products from the white board to market and have built a strong reputation as a proven leader. I have built an iPad app, a financial reporting toolkit, a data warehouse and a cloud based interfacing utility - all currently in production and used every day. My career began at Accenture and Oracle where the emphasis was largely on technical skills, methodology and project delivery. I was consistently ranked in the top 5% and worked at multiple large accounts. After building a solid technology and process foundation I had the opportunity to bring my skills in house. At Eze Software, I spent my first 1.5 years in the field working directly with our clients and the product. The deep knowledge I gained there allowed me to transition successfully into Product Management. Once I began in Product Management, I knew that this was where my career would remain. I love building products. I find Product Management to be the perfect intersection of business, technology, process and creativity. A great product manager must balance all of these on a daily basis. They must be technical and know how to operate effectively within the constraints of a given architecture and they must know how to communicate with engineers. They must be strong business experts and work every day to strengthen their understanding of a given industry and their network within it. They must be catalysts and key contributors to the entire process - driving, promoting and evangelizing their vision and ultimately the product. And lastly, my personal favorite, they must be creative thinkers. Building excellent products means bringing creativity and an open mind every day, as well as learning to enable those around you to contribute creativity and freely. I have been highly successful as a product manager and have proven this during my time at Eze Software.
