Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Clinical Track
Emory University is one of the world's leading research universities. Its mission is to create, preserve, teach and apply knowledge in the service of humanity.
As Medical Director and Section Chief of the Emory University Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Center, I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinical transplant program, which performs approximately 350 autologous and allogeneic transplants per year. I also oversee institutional efforts aimed at improving our standards of care and maintaining accreditation by the Federation for the Accreditation of Hematopoietic Cell Therapy (FACT). My clinical expertise is in the diagnosis and management of patients with hematologic malignancies. My clinical research focuses on novel strategies for autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation, and on prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients.
