Lead Frontend Engineer

DroneDeploy is an information technology services company which specializes in drones, software, and mapping.

Most recently I have been developing ground control software in JavaScript for DroneDeploy that communicates to 1 to many drones over an LTE connection to perform real-time high quality mapping. Before DroneDeploy I worked as a software engineer on several projects at Wildfire by Google mostly focusing on the analytics product of the Wildfire suite. During my last two years at school, I focused on my goal of having my own software company. I started Ratchet Software LLC when I was 23 years old and just ending my undergraduate degree. Ratchet Software has become a successful, profitable, and growing business serving data through web applications to companies with 25K+ employees. The primary public product that we provide is a unified interface to all of our data sets developed in Ruby on Rails. The company bases much of its income on multi-year contract so it is clear that the next several years will be stable for the company as it expands its customer base and the information provided. In the future I hope to spend some of the freedom I have through my company on outside projects that I find interesting and having a possible impact.
