Growing up in a Nebraska farming community of 800, I did not dream of working for one of the country’s leading educational design firms, but that’s exactly where I find myself. The day I stepped into DLR Group’s office in Omaha, NE in 1992, my leadership potential was recognized. After a quick seven years of accelerating through the ranks I was tapped to move to Chicago and start an educational design studio for DLR Group. Not a small task in a town largely regarded as the country’s architectural epicenter, but a perfect place to seize an opportunity. Since opening the Chicago office's educational design studio, I have been the catalyst for DLR Group establishing a name for itself on Chicago’s, and hence, the nation’s architectural scene. Working almost exclusively with educational clients, I am very familiar with the many complex aspects of the entire educational facility planning, programming, design process, and construction delivery methods. I focus on effective use of space to accommodate the current and future educational programming goals of each learner. I have proven abilities to gain consensus by working closely with all user groups to develop functional, responsive, and cost-effective solutions to facility challenges. My drive, ambition, and optimism with the future education brings energy, drive, spirit and "can do" attitude to all who work with me. Love "What if we..." type discussions and "Why not..." challenges. Hate "We can't because..." type responses and "what for? type midsets.
