Having over 25 years of experience in the Information Services industry and 5 years dedicated to delivering Security Services to my customers, I am a strong leader with the ability to manage, develop and motivate teams and my direct reports. I am able to react to the ever-changing environment we work in and relish the challenges that every day brings, my daily goals are to deliver the best security service we can to our customers, that both meets their business needs and price point. My background is in engineering and service management, this has stood me in good stead over my career, being able to study the challenges and issues and then apply a logical and pragmatic approach to the task in hand. Having originally started in the armed forces I still live with the ethos that the many are greater than the one, this is why I like to ensure I have a good team around me and that they are motivated to deliver to our customers challenges each day. I firmly believe that good Information Security is a combination of well delivered ITIL Services and education, the many years worth of experience I have as a Service Delivery Manager allow me to appreciate the limitations and challenges faced by all the departments. Being able to develop or create processes and services to meet the business needs has been a core part of my role for a number of years, ensuring these are robust, affordable and meet the objectives is essential in ensuring that the business treat the Security team as trusted advisors. Another major part of my roles has been my financial skills, these range from being able to create cost models for new services to managing profit and loss accounts for my department, understanding the value of money and being able to create and present a business case that has a solid financial plan is essential in securing the budget needed to continue to build and develop both the services we offer and maintaining the skills of those delivering these services.
