As the leader of Clayco’s Institutional Business Unit, I am privileged to be at the forefront of redefining how our business innovatively and efficiently approaches the design and construction of complex facilities that have an impact far beyond the walls of a building. As an experienced leader with a proven history of design-build success, I value the skills I’ve acquired through my 20-year career with Clayco. With a comprehensive understanding of LEAN practices, project estimation, design thinking, pre-construction planning, contract management, and subcontractor coordination, collaboration and negotiation, along with my strong ability to develop new business opportunities, I credit my proficiencies to the education I received in industry and while at Missouri Western State University, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering. I believe the design-build industry has a realistic opportunity to positively affect how communities are built. That spirit allows me to inspire teams to integrate the art and science needed to disrupt an evolving industry. My passion is present in my love for the integrated delivery model. I work hard and push my teams to create long lasting relationships that significantly impact the businesses and communities in which we are working. I value the projects we’ve completed, the bonds we’ve built and the relationships I’ve helped cultivate. This passion is what drives me as a leader and it’s my goal to inspire those around me so we, together, can change the communities we serve. As a dedicated leader and mentor, I have participated in the Construction Career Development Initiative (CCDI) since its inception in 2015. This group is bringing diversity to the Design and Construction industry by mentoring and exposing minority/underrepresented and under employed men and women to career development in construction. In addition, I serve on the board of Pedal the Cause and I am active with DBIA, COAA, Habitat for Humanity, ULI, Message and a Meal and MFK Haiti. As a Missouri native, I reside in St. Louis, Missouri with my wife, two daughters and two sons. They are my greatest resource and advocates, and it’s their support and love that gives me the balance I need to stay diligently focused on supporting my colleagues and clients across the country. We have the opportunity to live each day to its fullest and I am driven to do just that. Not in a selfish way, but in a way that strives to improve the world I live in and the lives of those around me.
