Laura started as the Director of Events with Centura Health and held that position for 13 years. She created and organized major fundraising galas, golf tournaments and other events benefiting causes such as Breast Cancer, Cancer/Cardiac Care, Parkinson's, Transplants as well as Centura Hospice. The fundraising events served as strong way to identify and engage donors as well as increase giving. Strategic planning, budgeting, project management, event staff and volunteer supervision, corporate sponsorship solicitation and event marketing are some of her favorite tasks and strengths. She demonstrates strong skills in strategic marketing, planning and program development. She is continually recognized for an unparalleled ability to achieve ambitious goals while improving efficiency, effectiveness and increasing net profits. In her current role as Chief Development Officer for Porter Hospital, she is able to match her desire for making a difference in the community and sharing Porter's mission. As the Chief Development Officer, she is responsible for all Charitable Giving. While there are several realms she raises money for, there are areas of focus she particularly enjoys! Within this next year, building a new Hospitality House that will provide a safe and supportive place to stay for patients and their families coming to Denver for Cancer Care and life changing Transplants tops the list! Operation Walk Denver is another favorite project. It is an international program run by the lead Orthopedic surgeons and their team from Porter Hospital, staff members, volunteers and the generosity of donors. Fundraising efforts provide a way for the surgeons and the Porter team to travel to developing countries and provide life changing hip and knee replacements to those in need at no cost to the patient. The Denver team is currently one of the most successful chapters in the United States. Other duties also include managing a major donor portfolio, strategic planning, budgeting, project management, staff and volunteer supervision, corporate sponsorship solicitation and event management. Laura has volunteered for numerous years with the University of Denver. She currently is a member of the Executive Advisory Board at Daniels School of Business. She has served as the Vice Chair of Special Events for the Parents Association Council (2008-2016). She is a board member for Freedom Service Dogs, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Denver, as well as a member of the Cancer League of Denver, Rotary, and the alumnae board of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
