I am passionate about animals! The entire focus of my career has centered around the care and treatment of animals through veterinary medicine. My very first job was veterinary assistant and I was in love with the profession from day one! All of my days since then have been spent with the intent of improving animals' lives. I worked as a veterinary technician at various types of hospitals for 12 years. In 2013 I accepted an opportunity to join the management team and I found a new passion, in veterinary business management. As the Purchasing Coordinator for BluePearl's flagship hospital in Tampa, FL. In 2014 I joined the Commercial Purchasing team at the BluePearl Support Team (our home office) in a role that would serve all of our hospital locations in the country. I have learned a lot about sourcing and procurement since then and I really enjoy the team environment that we have in my department. I enjoy helping my company to run more efficiently by improving supplier relationships, ensuring best quality materials and realizing savings through negotiations. In my role as Regional Purchasing Manager I have managed several projects such as: Implementation and management of company wide program - Associate pet supply website Management of company wide program - Digital desk reference journal access Managed service vendor relationships and contract negotiations Managed equipment inventory company wide - Ultrasound equipment Saved the company 4x my salary via procurement methods and negotiations over 1 year Coordinated and placed orders for Capital Equipment for an annual total of $1-2 M Negotiated and secured company wide vendor agreements via bid competition process My goals are to continue in my profession of veterinary hospital management by working in the Commercial Purchasing and Operations departments. I am incredibly excited about my new contacts at Mars Petcare and I look forward to future projects with my new extended family at Mars, Inc.
