BlueBay was founded in 2001 in response to new opportunities in the European corporate debt market, and in anticipation of the expansion of emerging market fixed income as an institutional asset class. Then as now, we aim to offer clients new thinking and fresh opportunities. By leveraging our hedge fund heritage and staying true to our specialist fixed income roots, we strive to innovate new investment strategies using our broad range of sub-asset class expertise, with a focus on absolute return and capital preservation. Our innovative approach to fixed income investing allows us to serve clients across a variety of market conditions, while securing a solid foundation for our investment strategies. I’m a scientist who ended up in sales (still not sure how, but it’s too late to worry about it now!). I’ve done enterprise sales, sales leadership, strategy, planning and operations in management consulting, IT, the public sector and financial services where I am currently plying my trade. Being a scientist by training gives me a natural emphasis on facts and data to underpin or challenge ideas, plans or assumptions. It helps me analyse organisations to understand how to improve performance. Being objective and fact-based helps me to communicate and influence in a way that establishes focus and direction that organizations find easy to understand and follow. Importantly, I'm a tech advocate - I look for and promote opportunities to enhance customer and employee experience through the sensible application of technology.
