I have worked on tight gas projects for many years during my time at Encana. I have been tasked with reservoir simulation duties, fluid phase analysis for retrograde condensate prediction, geostatistical modelling and full geologic model creation, petrophysical well log crossplotting for facies detection, SCAL design, pipeline modelling, production data analysis, pressure transient analysis, DFIT analysis for closure pressure, reservoir pressure and frac gradients, fracture modelling, rock strength and fracture prediction, hydraulic fracture design and many other technical duties. Since moving to Whitecap the tight gas sand knowledge has not been needed. I now work on tight oil plays, heavy oil, conventional shallow permeable oil, waterfloods, ASP floods and microbial floods. I have designed detailed water flood models using simulations and used semi-empirical methods such as core relative permeability, mobility and fractional flow curves to predict performance. I have taken water floods from conception to completion with all the technical work done myself. Specialties: Geostatistical modelling in Petrel, Eclipse /Intersect simulation modelling, pressure transient analysis, DFIT analysis, production data analysis, linear flow analysis, rate transient analysis, core data analysis, multiphase porous media flow and fracture design.
