'I lead and coach high performance teams to formulate and achieve strategic objectives and solve problems.’ I have spent the majority of my year career as a consulting actuary, providing statutory funding and risk management compliance functions to trustees of large defined benefit pension funds. Alongside the compliance function is an advisory role helping trustee boards formulate and achieve their strategic objectives. My professional life has given me a huge insight to effective governance, management of business risks and fiduciary responsibilities. Unusually for someone in my role I have developed considerable softer skills (including negotiation, relationship development and commercial). Combining these with my analytical and professional training and financial and legal knowledge brings a powerful ability to bring a creative approach to problem solving and provide considerable diversity of thinking to the teams with whom I work. I am known for having strong opinions and constructively challenging accepted practices. I genuinely like working in diverse teams and allowing creative ideas to emerge. I have done this extensively in many areas through coaching my clients, my client teams and senior people across our business areas.
