I am an established and dynamic leader with 20+ years’ of success in human resources, diversity, equity and inclusion, and strategic planning across a variety of industries. My career accomplishments include: - Designed and implemented cutting-edge initiatives that increased the percentage of underrepresented people at every level of organizations in a variety of industries. - Completely built out multiple human resources function, creating programs and policies for an engaged and productive workforce, equipped to succeed and exceed company objectives. - Identified and implemented programs that optimized employee engagement to improve productivity and profitability. - Launched multiple employer branding campaigns that earned local, regional, and nationwide recognition across multiple platforms. As the Chief People Officer of Axios, a digital media company delivering vital, trustworthy news and analysis in the most efficient, illuminating and shareable ways possible, I have: - Grown the company from 100 to 500 employees (and growing) with a commitment to DEI and culture. - Built out the People Operations function, growing the original team of 5 into a function with 4 departments of almost 30 employees. - Created an employer brand that is continually awarded and recognized and attracts great talent. - Established strong relationships, establishing the People Operations team as a strategic partner for executives as well as a worthy resource for employees. - Delivered DEI results unseen at any other organization, especially media companies, increasing the % of people of color at Axios from 14% to 38% and the percentage of women at Axios from 53% to 59%. I joined Axios from 1776, a start-up incubator, where I built the organization’s Talent and Culture function and worked with entrepreneurs around the world to inform their startup’s culture and diversity strategies. Prior to that, I built out the Talent and Culture function at EverFi, an ed-tech company, as the company grew from 75 people to over 400, raised a Series C, and acquired another company. I graduated from Georgetown University and spent the first half of my career as a consultant focused on Workforce Management. I believe culture and diversity are key drivers of a company’s success, that both are set in the formative stages of a company's lifecycle, and that HR can be a force for good.
