Located in the state capital of Texas, Austin Community College is a public, two-year college offering associate's degrees and certificates in more than 180 areas. I am an emerging archivist, public historian and museum professional. I recently graduated from the University of Michigan School of Information, where I studied Archives and Records Management, and also completed a graduate certificate in Museum Studies. I am interested in gaining work experience in cultural heritage through a position in a socially-focused historical museum or special collections library. I hope to catalog, process, and digitize archival materials in order to better support and enhance the interpretative strategies of the institution. My academic interests include monuments and memorialization sites, tourism studies, public art, living history museums and historic preservation.
