Chris Blake began his tenure as Group CEO of St Vincent's Health Australia in October 2022. Chris has a long connection with healthcare and a keen interest in its future. He is a Board Member of the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, as well as a member of the Advisory Committee for the Australian Epilepsy Project (AEP). Chris has also been a past Chairman of the Brain Research Institute and is a past Director of the Australian American Leadership Dialogue. Chris is a proven transformation leader who has designed and led successful enterprise-wide change by bringing together strategy and culture along with the teamwork, capability, and disciplined collective action required for an organisation to achieve its mission and ambition. Chris’ leadership roles have involved transformation in many business contexts and industries in response to disruptive change as a result of shifts in technology, business sustainability, and crisis. Chris is known for balancing an expectation of high performance from team members while creating an environment of care and respect. After a consulting career as a Partner at PwC (1987-2006), Chris has led the implementation of business change in many settings, including one of the largest cultural transformation programs in Australia at Australia Post (2010-2018). Chris has also been an active adviser to the Federal Public Sector over many years and served on a number of Government Reviews and Advisory Panels including: • Member of the Prime Minister's Advisory Group on the Reform of Australian Government Administration (the Moran Review). • Member of the Advisory Board for the APS Centre for Learning and Development. • Member of the Industry Advisory Committee on Veterans Employment (Chair of the Organising Committee for the Prime Minister's Awards). • Member of the Employment Services Expert Advisory Panel for the Department of Jobs and Small Business (Chair of the Digital Sub-Committee). • Current member of the Australian Public Sector Commission Deputy Secretaries Talent Council (non-public sector member).
